Fun Zone & Fun Zone Friday: Starts Oct 30th!
Preschool-aged children are invited to The W every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 9 -11 a.m., from the last week of October through the end of March for Fun Zone. Two fieldhouse courts will be transformed into an indoor park where kids can run, play, and burn off energy. The program is free for members and $1 for non-member children. Adults are free.

In addition, one Friday a month The W will host Fun Zone Friday in the pool from 10 to 11 a.m., for just $2 for
non-members. Pool days will be Nov. 17, Dec. 15, Jan. 26, Feb. 23, and March 23.

Early Out and No-School Days in Waverly! 2017

The W will open the fieldhouse from 2 to 3 p.m. for W-SR students 12 and older on planned no-school and early dismissal days as well as for official school weather cancellations during the fall and winter. The pool will open at 3 p.m. on planned noschool and early dismissal days and for official school weather cancellations from Oct. 30 to Dec. 15, and Jan. 8 to March 30. Cost is $5 for guests.

NFL Flag Football SEPT.-OCT.
The NFL flag football program is growing and expanding! The program is an instructional league that teaches the basic fundamentals of flag football through team practices and games. The style of play is a 5-on-5 format, and eams will have distinct NFL uniforms. Participants will be required to wear mouth guards. Fee includes jersey and flags. Practices are 1 hour typically in the 4-7 p.m. time frame, 1 time per week on a M,T,W, or TH. After aturday, Sept. 9, which will be a practice, all Saturdays will be games played in the morning to midday.

Babysitter Training Class OCT & APRIL
Sponsored by Covenant Medical Center Women’s Center Participants will learn to perform basic child-care skills such as diapering and feeding, how to handle bedtime and discipline issues, plus care for common injuries
and emergencies such as choking, burns, cuts, and bee stings. All materials will be provided.

Basketball Clinic OCT-NOV
This clinic teaches young children the basic skills and concepts of basketball. Clinic teachers, normally
Wartburg basketball players, will give kids a great opportunity to learn and advance their knowledge and
skills. It is a great program for the young basketball player regardless of their previous experience.

Students will learn footwork, rope tricks, partner skills, small group routines, and long rope skills. They
will incorporate strength, agility, and endurance into learning these new skills.

P.E. 101 NOV-DEC
P.E. 101 teaches young children basic motor/movement patterns, introduces sport skills and concepts, and
shows kids the fun they can have participating in fitness activities and games. It is a great to way to teach children
the fun and benefits of exercise while teaching them to be part of a class.

Tumbling- JAN
This class teaches basic tumbling movements and games incorporating those movements, as well as use of the
balance beam and other equipment. The class is taught by instructors with experience in gymnastics.

Start Smart Sports Development Program JAN-FEB
Is your child ready for sports? Start Smart will help children prepare for organized sports without the threat
of competition or the fear of getting hurt. Start Smart is an instructional program during which a parent/
guardian works together with his or her child to learn the basic motor skills necessary for sports participation.
Parent-child groups will rotate through various motorskill stations like throwing, catching, and kicking. This
is a great program to introduce different sports to your child. Sports skills introduced include baseball/softball,
basketball, golf, volleyball, soccer, and many more!

Golf Clinic- FEB

This program, taught by Wartburg golfers, introduces kids to golf and develops the skills of more experienced
golfers. Participants will utilize the indoor golf space at The W, learning basic swing and putting skills along with
other golf fundamentals. Kids can bring their own clubs or use clubs provided by The W. Number of participants
is limited and the program filled up last year!

Volleyball Clinic MARCH-APRIL

Sponsored by the Wartburg College Volleyball Team This class will introduce volleyball fundamentals and
skills. It will focus on individual player development, including passing, serving, hitting, and defense. Participants also will play some 3-on-3, 4-on-4, and 6-on- 6 games. Players will be trained by current Wartburg volleyball athletes and have a chance to attend a Wartburg College spring volleyball practice.

The W Shinkyudo Karate Kids’ Classes

The martial arts offer a blend of benefits, including physical fitness, awareness, self-control, discipline, self-confidence, and self-defense. The classes are available to children age 6 or older.

Refund Policy To keep things fair to all participants, each withdrawal from a program will be assessed a $5 processing fee whether a refund check is issued or credit is put on an account. There will be no transfers. Any changes will be treated as a refund, and participants must re-register for the desired class. The refund may be requested by the deadline date of each class. If a deadline is not noted, it will be seven calendar days prior to program start date.
No refunds will be given following the registration deadline. Each program's deadline is indicated in the brochure. If a deadline date is not indicated, it will be seven calendar days prior to the program start date.
Medical: If a medical problem arises during the activity/class, a physician's written excuse must be presented stating that participation is restricted. In the case of a medical excuse, a percentage of whatever class time remains will be refunded.
W cancellations: If the program/activity is canceled by the department, you will have the choice of a full refund issued to your account or a refund check issued to the person who paid for the enrollment.
